Children’s Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. Since 1919, commemorative events have been held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes — wherever young readers and books connect! In 2014, Official Events were hosted in all 50 states for the first time, along with innumerable Local Events.

Last year’s official Children’s Book Week poster was designed by Robin Preiss Glasser, the 2013 Children’s Choice Illustrator of the Year Award-winner for Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet, part of the Fancy Nancy series which has more than 50 titles and has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for more than 350 weeks.

The 2014 Children’s Book Week bookmark was created by Steve Jenkins, author & illustrator of more than 30 nonfiction picture books about the natural world, many of them with his co-author and wife Robin Page.

Children’s Book Week is administered by Every Child a Reader. The Children’s Book Council is an anchor sponsor.
